Madden's 4 months!

So Madden had his 4 month check-up yesterday and, of course, with that came the yucky shots! I swear I don't remember my 6 year old getting that many, anyway, he was such a good boy for it all! I felt so bad bc he fell asleep in the car and was sleeping so peacefully when we entered the frigid cold room where I, unfortunately, had to wake him up : ( I felt so bad because not only did I have to wake him out of his cozy sleep but, I had to strip him down naked in the freezing cold doctors office room to get his weight! Fortunately, he woke up happy and stayed that way up until they stuck him 3 times. Poor little baby! It was so sad bc he was just smiling and cooing and blowing raspberries when out of no where (to him) he gets this horrible poke in his leg 3 times! He was probably thinking what the heck did I do to deserve that! All I was doing was being happy and smiling.
So Doc says he looks great! I am still solely nursing him and I started him on rice cereal about a week and a half ago bc he is a little pig and he just needed more food. He eats every 2-2.5 hours and I am sorry but these boobies need a rest. ha ha ha Seriously though, this kid has an appetite like his daddy! Which is why I was quite surprised when they weighed him and he only weighed 13 pounds 6 ounces which according to their little plot is only in the 25 %. I am not sure how much I believe those things bc my baby is no little baby anymore! He looks like a porker and everyone always says how big he looks but, who knows. He is healthy and that is all I care about!
The pediatrician said that I could start him on some stage one foods if I like but, I am kind of on the fence about that right now. I was reading on some different websites about when is the best time to start them and I am getting a mixed answer. Anyone care to give me their opinion on this situation???? I would love to hear it. I know with my first I breastfed him for 7 months and I didn't start solids until 6 months. (Which is what I was told to do back then) I guess they are always changing things.
Well I guess that is all for now! I am working on getting some more pictures on here! My site looks pretty pathetic compared to some of the others I know on here!
Ta ta for now!!

Hey! I found your blog from Lynda's blog. I have read mixed things on feeding solids also. For the most part I got the impression that solids are mainly for the experience of learning to feel foods in the mouth and experience tastes. I haven't fed Elijah cereal yet (Mae's fed Brooklyn it though)but he sleeps from about 830 to 6am so I don't need him to sleep at night (bummer Madden's not doing that). Maybe I'm holding on to my baby but he's only slightly interested in food when we're eating. He is a porker though..about 17 pounds! I figured a couple weeks I'll try rice get it thicker then do oatmeal and try the rest at 6 months..at least that's the plan now. Your family is beautiful!
